John Mark Abacan, a third year high school student at San Antonio High School (Jessmag), overcame a cold start to capture the 55 field Youth (below 16) Singles Championship of  the Darterong Pinoy 2012 held at East Sta Lucia Mall, Cainta City, recently. Down 0-2, JM Abacan won the last 3 legs of the best of 5 against Malabon City’s Joshua dela Cruz to bag the trophy and cash prize.

Coming in 2nd place in the 16-19 year old Youth Division was Reo Angelo Zamora, an Automotive Mechanic student at the Lyceum of Subic. Doods Virginio of Baguio City dominated the field of 62 players from the different parts of the country.

Pipen Sismundo of Castillejos, Zambales teamed up with Vince Develos and Rodel dela Cruz to win the Classified 3 Man Team Event besting 115 other teams. The trio of Angie Valmadrid, Ryan Condat, and Jordan Gulmatico took 2nd place.

On the distaff side, Camille Flaviano, a 4th year high school student of Luzon Technical Institute, was joint 5th place in the Ladies Division. She lost the deciding leg in the quarterfinals against the eventual Ladies Division Champ, Angie Valmadrid of  Datadarts, the nation’s number 2 ranked lady darter.

The officers and members of the Fleet Reserve Branch 367  through its President, Mr Thomas Mishenko were instrumental in sending the youth darters to this national competition.
