Subic’s Vizcocho to head Central Luzon Media Association (CLMA)
In a Resolution passed during its Directorate meeting held recently at Bongabon, Nueva Ecija, the Central Luzon Media Association (CLMA) has affirmed the election of Zambales-Olongapo Chapter President Vic V. Vizcocho, Jr. to head the 45-year-old media group in the region come September this year.
Vizcocho, who is also president of the 10-year-old Samahang Mamamahayag sa Subic Bay Freeport (SMSF) is publisher of Subic Bay News, former publication of the US Naval Base, Subic Bay, Philippines which he relaunched in 1994, two years after the Americans left Subic Bay.
A former Chief of Reporters of ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp.’s DzMM, he has also been writing a column for the national daily tabloid Saksi Ngayon.
While he remains active as a media person, Vizcocho is currently President and Chief Executive Officer of two (2) Subic Freeport locator companies, namely FuelEast Energy Corportion and Subic Bay il Meglio Maritime Services Corp.
“I’d like to see local journalists amply compensated and protected against violence,” he says, “it’s been long overdue.
He, and the other incoming officers will be sworn into office in September 22, 2023 in conjunction with CLMA’s 45th Anniversary, in a venue in the Subic Bay Freeport yet to be determined. (Mika Arcenal)
