SM elebrates 126th Anniversary of Philippine Independence Day

SM City Olongapo Central and SM City Olongapo Downtown marked the 126th anniversary of Philippine Independence Day with a celebration attended by notable personalities and honored guests.
Olongapo City Mayor Rolen C. Paulino, Jr. along with Olongapo City Director PCol. Charlie D. Umayam, City Councilors Lugie Lipumano-Garcia, Rodel Cerezo and Gina Perez, City Tourism head Fifi Legaspi attended the event at SM City Olongapo Central, accompanied by Miss Olongapo Earth 2023 Jasmin Adel Moawad and Mutya ng Olongapo Tourism 2023 Aura Mary Mesiano. Also present from SM Olongapo Central was mall manager Engr. Ariel I. Ferrer.
Meanwhile, Olongapo Vice Mayor Aquilino “Jong” Cortez and City Councilors Rodolfo Catologan and Ying Anonat, and Anton B. Lerma, asst. mall manager were present at SM City Olongapo Downtown, making it a memorable event for all attendees.
In his speech, Mayor Paulino emphasized the importance of remembering and honoring the sacrifices made by our ancestors in the fight for freedom.
City Director Umayam highlighted the role of the community in preserving the values and traditions that are integral to the Filipino identity.
The Philippine Independence Day is celebrated simultaneously across all SM Supermalls nationwide as part of its commitment to be with the community.
The celebration concluded with a cultural performances like traditional dances and musical performances that highlighted Filipino heritage.
