SM CITY OLONGAPO, PESO HOLDS JOBS FAIR

Aside from the Job Fair, government agencies such as National Statistics Office (NSO) and City Civil Registry joined for pre-employment requirements of the jobseekers. Likewise, TESDA graduates and trainees offered free haircut and massage.

A total of 2,096 applicants rushed to the 5th level of SM City Olongapo on May 01, 2012 to register for the Labor Day Jobs Fair. The event, which celebrated the country’s 110th Labor Day  with the theme “Pagtutulungan, Pagbabago, Disenteng Trabaho”,  was a partnership between Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in partnership with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and SM City Olongapo

The influx of the applicants made the Job Fair an enormous success. From the total number of registered applicants, ninety-two were hired on the spot (HOTS). Fifty two local and overseas companies participated including those in the  Business Processing Outsourcing (BPOs), Small-Medium Enterprises (SMEs), Retail, Services and Manufacturing industries.

SM City Olongapo Assistant Mall Manager Renalin Briones and HR Manager Rodora Lo welcomed Mayor James Gordon, Jr., First Lady and SBMA Director Anne Marie Gordon joined by City Councilors Eduardo Piano, Eyrma Yvette Marzan and Edna Elane.

“The coming of SM Olongapo has benefitted the city and the nearby province of Zambales and Bataan not only in terms of employment but also on the business side. Let us continue fighting for excellence,” Mayor Gordon remarked.  (PR-SMOL)
