SBMA repossesses former Duty Free Shop for multiple violations

NATIONAL Press Club (NPC) President Lydia B. Bueno has sworn-in Subic Bay News publisher Vic V. Vizcocho, Jr. as the president of the Central Luzon Media Association (CLMA) for 2023-2024 in simple rites held at MG Grand Hotel, Subic Bay Freeport Zone.
Vizcocho, who took over Carmela Reyes-Estrope of Bulacan, said that while the welfare and security of media persons shall remain a major priority concern of the organization, under his term “policing our own ranks is as important” to avoid becoming tools of unscrupulous entities and individuals who advance their own personal and ideological agenda using the media.

Some one hundred (100) members of CLMA chapters from the seven (7) provinces of Central Luzon attended the oath-taking that capped a day-long series of activities marking the organization’s 45th Anniversary.
Earlier in the day, a Mangrove propagation activity was conducted by the group joined by other organizations that include the Olongapo City Medical Society (OCMS), Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), North Luzon Expressway (NLEx), GN Power/GMEC, and Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA), among others. Some 300 propagules were planted at the Binictican Mangrove Area where the group, anchored by the Samahan ng Mamamahayag sa Subic Freeport (SMSF) held the same activity in February of this year.
Following the Mangrove Propagation activity, the regional media group held its General Assembly at Diamond Hotel, Subic Bay Freeport where Vizcocho’s pre-election was affirmed, and the rest of the officers were elected, namely Billy Nuqui (Tarlac), executive vice president; Deng Pangilinan (Pampanga), vp online; Bernie Diaz (Bulacan), vp print; Jason de Asis (Aurora), vp radio; Jonas Reyes (Zambales/Olongapo), secretary; Alex Galang (Zambales/Olongapo) treasurer; Eloisa Silverio (Bulacan), auditor; and Sonia Carpio (Nueva Ecija), secretary-general.
Members of the Board of Directors are Lalaine Santos (Bulacan), Theofel Santos (Bulacan), JP Manalang (Pampanga), Lara Cunanan (Pampanga), Menchie D. Matias (Nueva Ecija), Cinderella Gonzales (Nueva Ecija); Dina Diaz (Tarlac); Menchie Hernandez (Tarlac); Aileen Sanchez (Zambales/Olongap0) and Dante Salvaña (Zambales/Olongapo).
After spending the night at Subic’s Horizon Hotel, the CLMA members, along with the NPC officers, were treated to a tour of The Garden by Pacific Ace Building also in the Freeport, where they witnessed the fusion of modern amenities and nature.
The Garden hosts, among others, Regus’ 147 work stations, the only one of its 4,000 locations worldwide that boasts of many real plants both in and outside the building. Regus is an international company that offers businesses professional workspaces of various sizes.
