Poems & Poetry : The kids on the Street
The Kids on The Street
Innocents of the moment
They run around begging
Little scraps of food
To ease the pang of hunger.
These unfortunate kids on the street!
My hearts ache for the little ones
Who have to scrounge the trash
A little love they crave
To ease their weary hearts
So sad for these unfortunate kids on the street!
Lord, they are your children
But why are they here?
If I can just ease their pain
Give them the things they need
To make them smile, these kids on the street!
Friends to you I beg
Open your hands and reach out to these kids
They need food, cloth and other things
Just a little, not really everything
To give them hope, these kids on the street!
Tomorrow, the kids will be no more
Tomorrow, they will grow old
We ask will they be good members of the community
Or will their children also become dregs of society?
And become like them once, live like kids on the street?
Their hope to rise will depend so much
It’s not too late, we all could help
A little love, a bag of food, a piece of clothing
A kind support for their well-being
Will make a big of difference, to the kids on the street!
