WORKING WITH FUN. SM Olongapo Downtown and SM Olongapo Central employees enjoy playing the Filipino traditional games during the SM Super Prime Olympics. The new generation of employees found new and innovative fun activities through the Palaro ng Lahi initiated by the Human Resources department of SM. These fun activities at the mall entertain, motivate and engage employees and look for opportunities to connect and learn from coworkers. Games include Luksong Baka, Kadang Kadang, Patintero and Luksong Lubid.

Asked to grade the status of preparations of the organizing committee for this year’s Southeast Asian Games hosting, Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee COO, Ramon Suzara said “we are almost there. In a scale of 1 to 10, we are at 9.” Suzara gave this declaration during the press conference held in Clark, Pampangga for the 3rd and final Chef de Mission meeting of the biennial games.

Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano, who is Presiding Chairman of PHISGOC was also present along with Philippine Sports Commission Chairman and Team Philippines Chef de Mission William Ramirez, Presidential Adviser on Flagship Programs and Projects, Bases Conversion Development Authority’s President Vince Dizon.
Cayetano thanked Ramirez for all the help the sports agency has been giving the organizing committee citing that “it is not easy since Chairman is juggling three tasks the same time.”

Seven out of 11 CDMs were present in the press briefing with the other four represented by their deputies. The CDM meeting is scheduled Wednesday where PHISGOC is expected to update all chiefs of mission on the country’s preparation for the games in the final stretch.

Everyone also served as witness as PHISGOC welcomed a slew of new sponsors: Phoenix Petroleum and Family Mart under the UDenna Corporation, NLEX Corporation, Philippine National Bank, Bombo Radyo, Filinvest City Alabang, Chinabank and Ibarra Watches for Cronometradores Filipinas, Inc. Cayetano underscored the importance of proper investing and citing how partnering with the PHISGOC serves as its partners’ investment not only as a business move but more so on the growth of the Filipino people. “You are actually investing on our people,” the PHISGOC chief explained addressing the new sponsors.

Suzara, meanwhile, introduced the newly appointed spokesperson of PHISGOC, Atty. Jarie Osias who is also the organizing committee’s director for legal affairs.
