KNHS Journalists Secure Spot in District IV Campus Journalism Forum and Showcase

Journalism students from District IV of the Schools Division of Olongapo joined competition on October 17-18, 2024, for the much-anticipated District Campus Journalism Forum and Showcase in Olongapo City National High School (OCNHS). The event, themed “Empowering Voices: Enhancing Campus Journalism,” brought together representatives from both elementary and secondary schools across the district, celebrating journalistic excellence through interactive forums and competitions.
The participating schools were Asinan Elementary School, Banicain ES, East Bajac-Bajac ES, Ilalim ES, Kalalake ES, Tapinac ES, and the SPED Center for the Gifted for elementary level, while Kalalake National High School/Senior High School, Olongapo City National High School/Senior High School, Regional Science High School, and Tapinac Senior High School represented secondary education.
Keynote speeches were delivered by prominent figures, including Dr. Imelda P. Macaspac, OIC-Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, and William Roderick R. Fallorin, CESO VI, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, emphasizing on the value of journalism in shaping responsible and critical-thinking students which was also supported by a journalism specialist urging students to use journalism as a platform for truth and social change.
