Kalalake National High School Conducts First Aid Training

Olongapo City, Philippines —The Kalalake National Senior High School Department (KNHS-SHS) held the First Aid Training joined by the students under the project Training for Empowered Student Safety (TESS) last October 18, 2024 supported with expertise of the Philippine Red Cross-Olongapo City Chapter’s Emergency Response Unit (ERU).
The training was facilitated by ERU instructors focusing on the essential life-saving skills, empowering the students with practical knowledge on how to respond to emergency situations. The topics covered bleeding control, choking first aid, burn treatment, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) which correspond to the development of skills of the students to handle emergencies effectively.
“Our students need to be prepared, not just academically but also in terms of their ability to respond to real-life emergency situations. This training is a vital part of their education because these skills can save lives,” said the proponent of the TESS project..
The TESS project is a part of Kalalake National High School’s ongoing efforts to promote health and safety awareness among its students. The school plans to hold similar activities in the future to ensure that students remain prepared for any emergency situations they might encounter. (Maria Theresa G. Madarang)
