PHILIPPINE SEA. Quarter Master 2nd Class Elijah Exum, from Phoenix, and Quarter Master 2nd Class Jose Rivera, from Bayamon, Puerto Rico, hoist the American Flag as the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Milius (DDG 69) transits past Iwo To. Formerly referred to as Iwo Jima, Japan returned to calling it by its pre-war name in 2007. Milius is assigned to Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, Navy’s largest forward-deployed DESRON and the U.S. 7th Fleet’s principal fighting force, and is underway supporting a free and open Indo-Pacific.
