Daniel Inouye is part of Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 9 and is underway conducting routine operations in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations. The phone-and-distance line is used to measure distances between ships while transferring items and fuel. Sterett is assigned to Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 1 and deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific.
