Covid-19 recoveries in Central Luzon breach 80K-mark

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – The total number of patients who recovered from coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in Central Luzon has breached 80,000 since the onset of the pandemic last year.
The Central Luzon Center for Health Development (CLCHD), in its regional case bulletin released Friday night reported 888 new recoveries, bringing the total to 80,372.
The region’s active cases stand at 7,837, including the 939 new cases reported on May 7. Of the total, 53 are asymptomatic cases, 7,645 are mild, 62 are moderate, 58 are severe and 19 are critical.
The total number of those who died of Covid -19 in the region is 2,128, which is 2.4 percent of the total caseload.
Meanwhile, the recoveries represent 89 percent of the total 90,337 confirmed infections in the region.
The CLCHD reminded the public not to be complacent and to follow the minimum health standards amid the vaccination rollout.
DOH-3 (Central Luzon) director Cesar Cassion also encouraged the public to support the implementation of preventive measures against Covid-19.
“To protect one’s health and safety is everyone’s responsibility,” he said in an earlier statement. (PNA)
