Harbor Point served as the registration hub for the 800 local and international challengers of Challenge Philippines last February 20 to 21

The Ayala Malls welcomes history in the making with the third Asian event of the globally expanding Challenge Family series – the first ever Challenge Philippines. Set in the most beautiful and iconic tri courses in Southeast Asia, Challenge Philippines is triathlon that offers an added rush. Presented with a strong focus on athlete and spectator experience, this event brings itself closer to the public by jumpstarting some of its activities at Subic’s bustling nerve center – Harbor Point.

The Challenge Philippines Triathlon was the climax of a weeklong festivity of lifestyle, cultural and community engagements, and sports for the entire family in a celebration of the Pinoy spirit and traditions that began with a string of events at Harbor Point. The mall served as hub for all the start-up activities meant to spice up the race for the challengers. From the registration to sporting clinics and entertainment lounges and parties, the days leading up to the big weekend definitely fired up the tri course.

The half distance event – joined by close to a thousand strong local and international triathletes from all over the world including the greats like four-time world champion Chris “Macca” McCormack who dubbed this as “one of the best events in the 2014 race calendar” – last February 22, 2014 is now sure to be a mainstay in the scheme of triathlon favorites in the country.

The Ayala Malls – Harbor Point with Endurance Entertainment Asia together with its many event partners has done quite a feat by providing athletes keen to take on this tough and yet stunning course with a new experience of long distance racing and giving back to the community while respecting the legacy of the sport! Now that is definitely triathlon.
