BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Governor Albert Garcia has announced the start of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccination of the pediatric population or those 12 to 17 years old without comorbidities in this province on Wednesday.
This, after the ceremonial inoculation of the same age group with comorbidities on October 29.
Vaccination of those under this priority group A3 (pediatric patients) will continue on November 5.
For the vaccination, the parent should present the birth certificate of the child to be inoculated plus a valid identification of each child and the parent.
In the absence of a birth certificate, other documents like baptismal certificate, insurance policies, health membership, life plan, memorial plan, school ID and Philhealth, Government Service Insurance System card, Social Security System card, and other documents showing the relationship of the child and the parent.
A special power of attorney is required for those other than the parent accompanying the child.
Garcia said Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are available for the pediatric population.
“Inaanyayahan ko ang ating mga magulang na tangkilikin ang ating programa ng pagbabakuna dahil walang pinipiling edad ang Covid-19. Huwag nating hayaang ilagay sa peligro ang ating mga anak dahil ayon sa ating datos, may banta pa rin sa kalusugan ang nasabing nakamamatay na sakit (I am inviting our parents to patronize our vaccination program because Covid-19 chooses no age. Let us not put into risk our children because based on our data, there is still a threat to health the said dreaded disease),” Garcia said in his official social media account post.
He reminded the Bataenos that vaccination is just an additional protection and still needs to comply with the minimum health protocols at all times.
“Ang kaligtasan ay nakasalalay pa rin sa ating mga kamay. Maraming salamat (The safety is still in our hands. Thank you very much),” he added.
