Malacanang has announced the appointment by President Benigno Aquino III of former Zambales Vice Gov. Ann Gordon, as a member of the board of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA).

Wife of Olongapo City Mayor James Gordon and sister-in-law of former Sen. Richard Gordon, she is representing Olongapo City in place of Ted del Rosario for a term that will expire on Aug. 17, 2013.

Palace spokesperson Abigail Valte said her appointment papers had been sent to SBMA Chair Roberto Garcia.

Gordon was endorsed last year by the City Council to serve as Olongapo’s representative to the SBMA board.

Her appointment is being touted as an additionalmeasure to ensure that the city’s interests are always taken into account in the board’s decisions.
