7,452 families in Central Luzon displaced by monsoon rains

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, — The typhoon Butchoy-enhanced monsoon rains have displaced 7,452 families or 32,104 persons in Central Luzon.

“We have 58 affected barangays in Dinalupihan, Hermosa, and Orani in Bataan; Calumpit in Bulacan; and Olongapo, Botolan, Iba, San Antonio, San Felipe, and San Narciso in Zambales,” RDRRMC Chairperson and Office of Civil Defense Regional Director Josefina Timoteo said.

Around 150 families in Bataan and Zambales temporarily seek shelter in 14 evacuation centers.

In terms of assistance, Department of Social Welfare and Development has provided Php360,940 worth of relief items to Zambales and Php72,188 worth to Bataan.

Moreover, Department of Health (DOH) has provided Php250,000 worth of medicines and hygiene kits to Zambales.

DOH also provided Php50,000 worth of water containers to Olongapo City. (PIA 3)
